I've grown water lettuce indoors, and they can do well under artificial lighting, but make sure it’s bright enough, ideally mimicking full sun. Aim for a consistent water temperature between 70-85°F, with slightly acidic to neutral pH. Indoors, they generally don't spread uncontrollably, but watch for excessive nutrient buildup which can cause them to proliferate. Pests like aphids and spider mites can be occasional issues, so keep an eye out. Regular maintenance should keep everything balanced.
