Has anyone out there turned their bromeliad into a legit fruit factory indoors? Mine’s throwing out these adorable little berries after blooming, but now it’s drawing every fruit fly in a 10-block radius like it’s hosting a rave. Is this normal, or did I accidentally summon the apocalypse? Teasing aside (okay, mildly), the berries are edible on some species-tastes like a pineapple’s awkward cousin-but what’s the play for pest control without nuking the beneficial critters? Neem oil fans, spill your secrets before my kitchen becomes a bromeliad buffet.

Whoa, bromeliad berries turning your place into fly central? Totally normal post-bloom-mine did the same on a Neoregelia, and yeah, the tiny ones taste pineapply-sweet if you snag ’em early. For flies without collateral damage: DIY ACV trap (apple cider vinegar + drop of dish soap in a jar, fruit flies dive in and drown). Neem’s ace too, but dilute heavy (1 tsp per quart water) and mist evenings only. No apocalypse, just harvest city! Anyone else got berry recipes? 🚀
