Has anyone here actually found a houseplant that thrives in blazing direct sunlight, or is that just an urban legend invented by Big Greenhouse to sell us succulents? I’m beginning to suspect my south-facing window is actually a solar death ray, judging from the fried leaves and, occasionally, the faint smell of roasted pothos.
Are there any plants that cheerfully say, “Yes, torch me, I’ve trained my whole life for this,” instead of spontaneously combusting? Or is my only option to mask the carnage with a tasteful arrangement of prickly cacti and rocks that look like they belong in a zen garden/planet Mars crossover?
Bonus points if it’s not a cactus or succulent and comes with a low probability of stabbing me or dying out of spite. Recommendations, personal horror stories of sun-worshipping orchids gone wrong, or tales of mythological sun-resistant plants all welcome. Enlighten me!
