Why does everyone keep pushing the same “low maintenance” house plants-pothos, snake plants, ZZ, etc.-like there’s no other option? I get it, they’re popular for a reason, but after years of seeing these same recommendations, it feels like a lazy echo chamber.
Has anyone actually had long-term success with other plants that don’t need constant babying? Or is the “low maintenance” label just marketing and wishful thinking? Are there underrated options that perform just as well (or better) with minimal care? Would love to hear from people who have gone beyond the basics-and if you think the “easy plant” hype is actually deserved, tell me why.
