I’ve been experimenting with some indoor setups myself and found that using a full-spectrum LED with a slight blue bias really helps kickstart flowering. Keeping light intensity around 200–300 µmol/m²/s seems to strike a good balance for carnations. I’ve also noticed that a well-draining mix with a bit of perlite or pumice, combined with a controlled, periodic watering schedule, minimizes root issues dramatically. As for cultivars, the miniature carnation varieties tend to be more forgiving indoors, likely because their compact growth habit lowers the risk of microclimate-related stress.
